Being lucky enough to travel and enjoy the folk traditions from another place is why we travel. The Moreska was colourful, exhilarating and a credit to the people of Korcula. Keep it up! The female Klapa singers were superb and the members of a young band did a great job. We were lucky enough to see part of it again... More

We paid £10 and booked the day before. It starts at 9pm so we had dinner at 7pm and then made sure we arrived fairly early as advised. We managed to get front row seats. Initially the performance started with dancing in costume. This is followed by beautiful singing. Then what we've all be waiting for the men with swords!... More

If you are interested in seeing something a bit different, it is this sward dance. The performance is not of a Broadway level, but the charming part is that the locals managed to keep the tradition for so long. The oldest participant of the show is over 80 years old and has been dancing Moreska since he was a teenager!... More

There is an interesting history for the Moreska. It is an enchanting evening show. My husband and I were impressed with the skill, dexterity and strength that each of the men demonstrated.

I have mixed feelings about this kind of performance; on one hand it's great that the locals perpetuate an ancient tradition. On the other hand the plot and choreography is so silly. If you're really into folk lore and costumes, then you should really go and see this. Otherwise just pass. It's not good just because it's supposedly ancient.

There were 3 features before the sword dancing: traditional folk dancing which was interesting; an acapela group who were excellent; and an orchestra who were ok. The actual sword dancing was quite spectacular. How they managed to keep going in the heat was a feat in itself. The dancing and fighting got faster as it progressed and how they didn't... More

Regardless of some comments saying the show was slow at times etc., visiting Korčula and not seeing Moreška is like going to Rome and not seeing the Pope. Although at 100 kn per person it might seem pricey, it's well worth it, given what Moreška is and its history. For anyone afraid of not understanding what is being said, flyers... More

Thanks to Trip Advisor we knew to plan to attend, and to get there early enough to get a good seat. We thoroughly enjoyed the spectacle, and by being up close could see the athletic skill needed by these men to perform. Each dancer wears a small towel in his belt to wipe sweat -- we saw traces of blood... More
