Beautiful natural scenery peaceful and relaxing - definitely worth a visit! My partner and I spent several hours walking around the lake and sitting enjoying the scenery! We liked that is wasn't commercialised and so the natural beauty was not impacted in any way.

We arrived and as expected everywhere the car park is pay and display. The walk to the lower viewpoint requires a certain level of fitness - it is so worth the effort. We were met by volunteers who were helpful, friendly and very knowledgeable. The Ospreys had left the nest for a while but one chick remained, it is great... More

We wanted to try and walk around a bit of Bassenthwaite, but like many, struggled to find an obvious point of entry. Eventually we found Scarness bay on the East side, by following the signs to the lodge holiday park. It proved to be an ideal access point, and it was a lovely walk along the shoreline, South into the... More

Lovely views, only part of the lake is accessible for walking around. Every where is the Lake District is amazing.

So quiet and beautiful, we were the only people for miles! Stunning views and photos. Hard to spot where to gain access to the lake but well worth the effort.

Breathtaking as seen from Ravenstone Manor. The little church is beautiful and the water clear and warm today.

No obvious viewing points of the lake which was disappointing, to be near to the lake, it was a walk through heavily wooded areas

Beautiful views from all around the lake. Well worth pulling over to take in the views. It has plenty of spaces to stop and admire the views

Really gorgeous views. Good for walking and taking your dog. We walked for hours. There's a small jetty. Ducks running around and playing. Our lodge overlooked the lake. Would recommend
