We had a great day cruising around the various sounds around Havelock. The weather was a little to hot. The tales we heard from Jim the skipper and his helpful mate bindy were very entertaining. We stopped for half an hour at Jacobs Bay so you could stretch your legs, some went in for a dip, while others sat at... More

The owners were great hosts, very informative about the area and the people, and nice to have free tea/coffee etc, but we had an eight hour day on a slow and rather too small boat, with only one 20 minute stop for a walk. Nice clean toilets but virtually no knee room. Downstairs inside the seats were hard and uncomfortable,... More

A fabulous day out on the Pelorus Sound on the mail boat delivering to some very isolated locations, only accessible by boat. Wonderful views all day and we were very pleased we decided to book this day long trip. Currently operates 3 times a week to different parts of the Sound. Complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits, but remember to bring... More

Very happy to experience the mail boat cruise a must do activity when in Marlborough. Liked seeing the ganet colony from up close on the boat and hearing the stories of the locals who lived in the waterways.

Congratulations to you both skippers Jim and Bindy. Your friendliness, helpfulness, knowledge of the History of the Sound and your charm is unparalleled. If one books a trip, one expects a "100"; if one gets a "70", one can be pretty happy. You have presented us with "200" and more. We had a time with you of a lifetime. Thank... More

This is quite a fun day but it is very long! The crew is great and it is interesting to see the mail being delivered to very remote places. The Pelorus Sounds is very beautiful, and this is probably one of the ways to get to experience it. We were lucky to stumble upon a big pod of dolphins and... More

A long day, about 7hrs on the boat, but totally worth it!! Amazing views as well as seeing some interesting people and their pets coming to pick up their mail or drop things off to the boat. The owner and skipper gives fabulous commentary throughout the day so you learn a lot about the sound and the people who live... More

Expected to be taken round the Pelorus sound in a standard day trip with a well scripted repitition of the usual tourist stuff. Instead we found jimmy our skipper and comentator for the day an insightful character with lots of anecdotes about the lifestyles of the people who inhabit the remotest parts of the sound. Jimmy obviously knows them personally... More

We had one of the best days of our holiday with Jim delivering the post to those who do not have road access. We visited mussel farms, a salmon farm as well as many more, and learned so much about the sound and the way that people live. Jim is very informative, and made the day extremely enjoyable. I would... More
