Golden Tulip Khasab Hotel and Resort

Nov 8, 2008

We stayed for 2 Nights there and the rooms are very good with a superb view of the sea/fjord. Clean rooms, linen and bathrooms. However, as we went in the peak season (Ramadan) with lots of holidays- we found it to be crowded. Restaurant is pathetic and overall service is really substandard. As there are no nearby hotels or decent... more

Although it includes "resort" in the title, this is really an hotel with a pool. It is relatively modern with large comfortable bedrooms and decent sized bathrooms - all spotlessly clean. The rooms have a good size balcony with table and chairs, most with superb views out to sea. You can dine buffet style or a la carte, either in... more

We had 2 nights at this hotel and enjoyed our stay. We came specifically to do the Dhow Day cruise, which we organised at the hotel. The hotel as others have noted, is tough to beat for location. Perched up on rocks, water and rock mountains for as far as the eye can see. We had a balcony room, stunning... more

We chose Oman for our honeymoon because we wanted a location which had a low % chance of rain and plenty of sun during August - We were not disappointed! When we stepped off the plane in dubai, we were ushered into a lounge where we refreshed ourselves with mint tea and biscuits whilst our luggage was picked up and... more

We have just returned from a 7 night break at Zighy Bay and whilst we had an excellent break something was slightly lacking. When we were looking for a destination it was a choice between Zighy Bay and Al Maha, based on many of the comments on this site and positive reviews in the British press we chose Zighy Bay.... more

Arrived at Dubai Airport and were taken straight off the plane to a lounge where we were provided with cold towels and a nice drink, they took our passports and baggage receipts, emigration was completed for us and our baggage was collected also!!!! We were then taken straight out of the airport into our private car for a pleasant 2... more

We stayed here the last week of May and have to say we got what we wanted, a place away from the pressures of day to day life, a total retreat. Having taken a night flight the airport experience was fab, whisked off to nice cold towels, fresh fruit juices and dates, whilst our bags and passports were all sorted... more

We spent four nights at this amazing property for the first leg of our honeymoon, and what an experience it was! From the moment we arrived (via a very scary road over some beautiful mountains), to the moment we departed (reluctantly), the service was perfect - always there if you needed anything, never obtrusive. Our butler, Raghav, was fantastic, as... more

The Esra apartments are very comfortable, with 2 bedrooms, each containing 2 medium size beds. There's a kitchen and 2 bathrooms, one en suite. Drinking water is provided. The swimming pool is in 3 sections; the children's pool is separated, but although the shallow and deep ends are adequately marked, there's a steep slope between them, which could be dangerous... more

Needing a break from Dubai, my husband and I booked our stay at Six Senses looking forward to the quiet and relaxation of the resort.Thankfully this is exactly what we received and got a beach view 1 bedroom villa that was just outstanding. Our Butler was attentive, service excellent and views were just wonderful. Overall it was a positive experience.... more

Had a four night stay at Zighy Bay a couple of months ago - There are positives and negatives , all of which are reflected in another guests' experiences . The setting is stunning and unique , which is part of the appeal, being so remote - the villas are of a very high standard , even at entry level,... more

Finally made it to the Musandam and stayed at the Golden Tulip for 3 nights. As mentioned in other reviews, the location is hard to beat. Perched on a rock strutting out into the water with the mountains behind. You can sit on the balcony soaking up the view for hours. The place is reasonably new and so in good... more

We agree with a lot of what the other reviewers have said about this resort. So to try to assist anyone else considering going to Zighy, let me try to summarise the pro's & con's. PRO'S: * The location is great & if it's a complete chill-out away from the madding crowd you're after, then this is a quiet &... more

We spend 9 nights at the resort in a Pool Suite Villa on the Beach Front. What we liked: - the resort set-up, very nicely done, a lot of character - the villas themselves, the privacy, the pools which are more than welcome in june! - the service and the staff What we did not liked: - some tar on... more

...but I can't. Why? Because Musandam Sea Adventures, who were booked to pick us up, never arrived. They offer an all-inclusive door-to-door service; they pick you up at home, take you on a cruise in the fiords of Oman, serve lunch and drop you back at your home. Sounds great. We were looking forward to it and had planned our... more

When I first heard that every "room" at Zighy Bay is actually a villa with a private pool, I was impressed. When my partner said he'd booked a beachfront villa, that sounded even more impressive. When we finally arrived at our beach villa, my breath was truly taken away. We spent some time googling this property before we booked our... more

This is the only viable hotel in the Mussandam of Oman. The rooms are fine, comfortable and each has a balcony with view and the views are wonderful as the Mussandam is one of the few unspoiled, pristine areas left in the world - and so beautiful. The food at this hotel is dreadful however and very overpriced. While a... more
