The Yorke Arms is quite simply one of the finest establishments I have been to. Our main surprise is that this is just a 1 Michelin star Resturant and not 2 Star. The food is just outstanding, service is world class and the wine cellar are better than any I have experienced in London at Ramsays and Pierre Whites establishments... more

We stayed here on a Saturday night for an anniversary treat and had an extremely enjoyable stay. The inn is in a tiny hamlet in a scenically beautiful area - difficult to imagine anywhere more peaceful. We were welcomed by a very friendly and helpful young man who quickly checked us in and carried our bag upstairs. The room, not... more

LOVELY OLD INN SET IN TRANQUIL VILLAGE OFF THE BEATEN TRACK FROM PATELEY BRIDGE NORTH YORKSHIRE, Delicious food and wines, excellent staff who were very accomodating. Possible to sit at the front of the property overlooking the village green with a delightful glass of wine or champagne to start off your evening. Nice garden at the back at the side... more

I have stayed at the HHH on many occasions and have been to many parties - weddings, engagments and birthdays. I have always found the staff very helpful courteous in fact I am going again soon for an 80th Birthday party. The views and surrounding points of interest are amazing, you can get to many lovely places ie Harrogate Kanresborough,... more

Stayed for one night here last week. Whilst the room was adequate the views of the pretty surroundings were wonderful.. However the food and welcomes were exceptional! We arrived early and were given coffee etc whilst our rooms were prepared. The meal that evening was memorable. Great ingredients put together with real expertise! I had the most delicious brill and... more

This is a lovely old stone-built farmhouse in beautiful countryside just outside Pateley Bridge. The rates are reasonable and the manager friendly. However, everything is done as cheaply as possible - decor, bed linen, towels, breakfast. A pity; with a little more effort and willingness to spend something to make guests' stay more special, this could be a really nice... more

Previously I have enjoyed gourmet/tasting menus at such venues as Petrus in London, Hibiscus in Ludlow and Waterside Inn at Bray so I know what it is possible to achieve with effort. After having really enjoyed a tasting menu at Holbeck Ghyll on 22/4/08 costing £67.50 whilst staying at the Salutation in Ambleside my wife and I thought that we... more

OK, as I've NEVER had Japanese before, I have NOTHING to compare against. There were 15 of us-which I think she struggled to cope with really, but the service was quick-so no complaint there. The worst thing was, when I went to the toilet, the babysitter was on her way down (as the owners lived above) and there was mention... more

Super location, terrific food and restaurant service but the rooms are ridiculously overpriced. They are small, often with bath in the middle of the room, no door to the bathroom - ie toilet in full view. Not totaly happy with the cleanliness either! We paid over £200 for a Sat night in a very poor room. However.. The food is... more

This was the final night of our honeymoon 28th February 2008, and we booked because of the rave reviews for food. On arrival the welcome was ok, but lacked friendliness. The superior room was nice, though expensive for what it was - lighting harsh, windows were dirty, power shower had no power! The residents lounge (which we found by ourselves)... more

Our experience of the York Arms is there uncaring attitude towards guests and customers. We should have realised there would be a problem when booking, they seemed disinterested taking a reservation for 1 night. We would definitely not recommend the York Arms to any one. more

The food was heavenly, the service excellent and the restaurant/hotel downstairs area is tastefully decorated creating a warm, cosy, wintery atmosphere. We stayed in a standard room, £150 which we found slightly overpriced for the room itself (having stayed in nicer, similiarly priced rooms in the area). The room was more than acceptable, with some nice extras e.g. fluffy dressing... more

Make no mistake, we went to HH for my 30th birthday (14 of us, 7 couples). It's in a great location, but is perhaps in need of a little TLC. The rooms were ok, but nothing to get excited about, although almost all of them look out over the valley. I (and my partner) were given the Honeymoon suite which... more

We stayed in the Grouse Room, which was delightful. Throughout the whole stay we were made to feel really special and valued. The meal was the best one I have ever tasted. My chocolate pudding changed flavours whilst I ate, I don't know how, but it did. The whole thing was spot on. The service was impeccable, not remotely intrusive... more

Just got back from a weekend in Pateley Bridge. Stayed at Roslyn House B & B. Went with friends to do a long walk round Pateley Bridge area (9miles!!!) Fantastic apart from rain. The Yorke Arms is a gem and Frances is a star - not only in the Michelin sense! Our stay here marked the perfect ending to a three week break in Denmark and England. Our bedroom was very comfortable and clean, with a super bathroom. Maybe new carpets in the corridors for 2008? The dinner was superb - utterly perfect... more

I recently stayed at this picture-perfect hotel after attending a wedding in the grounds. Both the food at the wedding and the breakfast the next morning were delicious and the staff serving at the wedding were lovely. The views were perfect and it looked like an idyllic country hotel. Ray, the owner, was pleasant and helpful. However, my stay at... more

Stayed for 2 nights in August 2007. Fantastic hotel - absolutely beautiful location. The staff are very friendly indeed, nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are elegant & large and in a very nice condition. The food is lovely & the dining room is very tastefully done out. I simply cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. It was delightlful to revisit the Yorke Arms and find that its charms and outstanding but not suffocating service had not changed. The cuisine as ever was superlative and well worth our 2h journey to relax and enjoy excellent food in a most idyllic setting.
