One of the better priced options in Bagamoyo, a small town with charm but little infrastructure. The rate was about $50 a night for a double room with hot water, A/C and breakfast. Room rates have rocketed in the past year, I suspect due in part to their catering to business and conference (i.e. expense budget) clientele. (Friends paid $75 for a luxury room in 10/07; our mid-level room was $135 in 1/08.) Also, they do NOT take credit cards. The room wouldn't have been worth it even at the $75 rate. Frankly,... more
