Our group of 5 family friends planned our visit to Murchison Falls National Park in the month of August, 2008. On arrival, at teh Entebee Airport, we were received by our ever smiling Driver [--] Guide of Afri Tours, Kampala, Uganda - Mr. Ally. Afri Tours are also the owners of the Sambiya River Lodge which is situated in Murchison... more

Stayed here two nights on a trip to Murchison Falls. This is great stop on any trip to this part of Uganda. The rooms were comfortable, and away from the bandas, had ensuite facilities. Excellent restaurant and wonderful hosts. Animals roam through the grounds in the evening so once you are in for the night, it is not advisable to... more

This resort is worth the drive. If you are a bird watcher this is an awesome place to see a wide variety of birds. The shoebill stork is found here. You can see the animals just as you imagined it. A boat ride on the Nile to see Murchinson Falls is amazing. A trip to the top of the Falls... more

We took a trip that took us all over Uganda. Sambiya River Lodge was our favorite accommodations in all of Uganda. The room was clean, the staff courteous, and we had the best food during our entire trip. The area has a lot to offer including chimp trekking, Nile River cruises, fishing, and of course, Big Game safari viewing. I... more

The staff was beyond helpful and pleasant! From the wait staff to our driver, we were very pleased with our experiences. We were very well taken care of. The service, the food and the ambiance was all I could ask for and more. The accomodations were wonderful and it was an authentic African experience. Can't wait to go back! more

I have been travelling to Uganda for years and have been to Sambiya River Lodge several times. In all my trips, it is evident that Uganda focuses on Eco-tourism and Sambiya River Lodge embodies that. Sambiya gives you your own personal tuku (hut), you can stay in a Banda (which is the cheaper, no frills option) or they even let... more

The staff at Sambiya River Lodge was very friendly and helpful. We have been on many Safari's, the game drive was definatley our favorite in East Africa. The Chimp trekking was incredible as well! Our guide was extremely knowledgeable which made the experiance amazing. We also went on a boat trip along the Nile. We are going back to go... more

The first time I stayed here a few years ago it was late when I arrived and I was not impressed by the other guest's noisy conduct. I returned in 2006 and was really pleased that I had. The difference was marked so I put my first visit behind me. I returned again December 2008 and the welcome was good... more

We have stayed at this Lodge five times now and it always lives up to expectations. It is first viewed from the Ferry at Paraa as you cross the Nile and the building does look a bit strange. Some have likened it to a PoW camp but the design works well and blends in with the surrounding African bush. Service... more

The Lodge is owned by Geo Lodges. We had 1 night in Jacana Lodge which was not very good and were very weary of spending 3 nights at another Geo Lodge. Our fears were unfounded. Craig, a great manager, and all the staff, were so very welcoming. The lodge is designed beautifully, the setting overlooking the Nile is stunning, the... more

After a couple of nights at Nile Safari Lodge it was a nice change to sleep in a permanent building. The room itself is all eco friendly and the best hot water showers in Uganda (they are few and far between outside of the big hotels). Everything about the room was brilliant. The bed was super comfy. The balcony is... more

We arrived late in the day after a really long drive. The check in was easy and quick and then we watched the sunset over the Nile (with the hippos grunting over the other side of the river). The hotel manager is a quirky english guy and once you get past the big hair you'll realise he's a great help... more

I stayed at Nile Safari Lodge on my first night of a Safari in Murchison Falls. I was overwhelmed by the welcome and service I recieved. I was met as I climbed out of my vehicle by smiling staff who handed me a cold towel and a glass of juice. I was then invited to sit in a comfortable sofa... more

I stayed at Paraa Lodge as part of a 2 day safari, on the 2nd night. Having stayed in Nile Safari Lodge the 1st day and staying often in The Masindi Hotel in Masindi town I can safely say that the service in Paraa was considerably poorer than the other 2 hotels. It is more of an international hotel than... more

Paraa Safari lotdge has by far the best location in the park. It sits on a hill with a wonderful view of the Nile river. The rooms are clean and spacious although they are not luxurious, The food we ate was nice and the location of the restaurant on a terrace over looking the river was lovely. All the rooms... more

In July 2008, we stayed at the Nile Safari Tented Camp in Murchison Falls. After a 9 hour drive from Kibale Rainforest (on very bumpy roads), we were warmly welcomed by cold glasses of lemon fruit juice and cold flannels. We were seated on the soft furnished coaches overlooking the River Nile. It was a stunning location and the reception... more

Stayed at Red Chilis, fine meals and ambiance. They have a safari camp, and also a hostel in Kampala - good place to stay the night before as trip leaves 8 AM. $170/person for 3 day minivan adventure is a deal. You can drive up there as well, though road full of holes, to say the least. Bunches of animals... more

I loved this hotel. but its not for the faint hearted ! set in the middle of rain forest on the banks of the nile, there are many snakes and spiders around !.and due to the fact its an eco lodge lights go off at 10.00 pm which can be a bit annoying. However, this place is so romantic ,... more

Up at 7am in Kampala. No hot water. Should have known if there's no hot water in the capital it's downhill from there. Breakfast is fine, hit the road with Emma, my guide. Start the trip off with an 8 hour drive. Boring right? No. It was an 8 hour roller coaster/fun house. First hour or two were in town... more
