We booked this hotel before reading Lonely Planet which says this is gov't owned. ***At airport upon arrival you must queue up to get passport checked.***Transportation is included to and from the airport. Be careful of baggage porters who demand money for bringing your checked in luggage to the hotel bus. Upon arrival to hotel, you get a drink and... more

Out of all the resorts I have been too this is certainly the very best resort I have stayed in. Desighned completely by the hotel manager Alberto Peyre it is set in a beatiful location with blue skies, turqouise seas and refreshing breezes. Pros: The food was really delicious Italian and Meditereanian with a hint of Burmese in the menu.... more

This really is a very comfortable modern place to stay with excellent staff and service. In fact the whole of our stay in Myanmar was first class and throughout the country the people deserve our patronage because they are quite simply warm and very friendly. The cabana rooms are well furnished with TV and seating area on the ground floor... more

This property offers very basic accomodation and is not for everyone. In truth, that can be said of the whole country. For two open-minded, experienced travellers on a tight budget, it proved perfect. Ngapali beach is idyllic and uncrowded. It is one of the finest beach destinations in the Myanmar and boasts several well-spaced resort properties. The Royal Beach Club... more

As private individuals, our arrival started with warning bells ringing loudly! Had to sit in the hotel's uncomfortable bus for an hour, with no drink nor cooling towel. It was high noon,so with you can imagine the temperature with no air conditioning except the glassless widows, with the rest of the people who were going to the hotel. The transport... more

The Silver Beach Hotel at Ngapali has a variety of accomodations including huge waterfront bungalows just meters from the beach. The rooms are fairly new and very well maintained. Television includes a wide variety of channels from BBC to CNN and CCTV. The food in the Restaurant is excellent and very reasonable, especially the grilled fish. A grilled red snapper... more

I spent one week in Ngapali beach, i arrived with no reservation so i checked all hotels on the beach. There are great resorts on the area but extremely expensive. There re backpackers options , as well but quality and cleanliness are very bad. Pleasant View resort (PVR) is a great option. Excellent relation price-quality/services. It s the last hotel... more

We spent 5 nights at the Aureum, including New Year's eve, and we loved every minute of our stay. Please refer to the long review just before this one, as I agree with everything that person said, with one exception: he or she said that the Sandoway Hotel was nicer in terms of architecture. I couldn't disagree more. The Aureum... more

This report is quite comprehensive as there have been few comments on this new hotel. POSITION The Aureum Resort has possibly the best position on the South Ngapali Beach, some 20 minutes from the airport. There are four hotels to the north -Thande Beach, Lintha Oo Lodge, Bay View and Silver Beach. There are five to the south -Ngapali Beach... more

What can I say - this new hotel resort is in the prime position on Ngapali beach. The accommodation is in stylish single storey cottages with air con/flat screen TV,coffee/tea facilities and a great bathroom with indoor/outdoor shower. Each has its own sundeck surrounded by tropical gardens and either garden, pool or sea view. Large inviting freeform pool and popular Spa... more

Its a great location in a great country and a well run hotel although not branded with a chain. Service is very good and very accomodating. Housekeeping, amenities are good. However take a deluxe room on a top floor. Understand the ground floor rooms suffer from higher noise level with wood being used for top floor flooring. Food variety can... more

I have just returned from 9 nights of bliss at Ngapali Beach in Myanmar for my Christmas Holiday with my girlfriend. Ngapali is a beautiful and undeveloped beach located in the Rakhine State, and is a 55-minute flight from Myanmar's Yangon. I booked my vacation through Tamarind Travel of Myanmar, and because the country I reside in (Romania) has no... more

Ngapali Beach Hotel was also known as the New Ngapali Beach Hotel because it was long established, around late 1960's or early 1970's. Then it was renovated in early to middle of the 1990s with the influx of foreign tourists to Myanmar (then known as Burma), hence the "New". Work to upgrade the hotel continued yearly to date (almost, that... more

Sandoway is a piece of heaven - it's the by far the most charming boutique hotel we have ever stayed at and we've been back 4 times since!!! Alberto who runs the hotel and who has given his italian touch to the surroundings has done a splendid job - it is understated luxury to the max....so peaceful, so amazingly stylish... more

MY TRAVEL STYLE: I hate business hotels and strongly prefer resorts that resemble the Four Seasons, Aman, and Oberoi but try to find similar properties at lower cost. I seek out the “wow” experiences and I encourage you to view hotels I have stayed at and their respective reviews (by clicking on my name). LOCATION: Excellent. On the most beautiful... more

We were at the hotel during our month long visit to Burma and we stayed in Ngapali for 4 days at Amata. Room was very clean with wonderful staff ready to help with anything you need,... more

We stayed in a second floor room with a view of Bay of Bengal. The room was comfortable, clean, had a romantic, tropical feel. Unfortunately, my wife developed gastroenteritis while at the resort. The staff were quite sympathetic to our plight; we were given unsolicited help from the resident nurse along with some medication. Needless to say, we relied on... more
