The dirt roads into the park are rough and rattle your teeth, but this place is worth the effort. Come in on north side, Nageezi, for least amount of rough road driving. Camping: Camp sites are first come, first serve, so Gallo Campground is my first stop when I arrive. When it’s hot the camp sites at entrance are best... more

Drive slow and you can make it. We went in a compact car and hmm I would say, you should rent a car. The roads were very slow. We came in through the southern entrance, (much longer road) and would advise against it. The southern entrance goes on forever and you get discouraged because you think you went the wrong... more

Our party of four camped out in Chaco Canyon over the weekend, with one person confined to a wheelchair. We were very happy to find a handicapped accessible restroom with hot and cold running water at the visiitor's center.
