I do NOT recommend this hotel, even though its location is awesome. Reasons are following; 1. Your reservation can be canceled without confirming with you. 2. A housekeeper is not aveilable even when he/she forget to leave new towels, and the reception doesn't care your towels. 3. You can make a payment by your credit card, but unaccountable lines may... more
This was a huge disappointment. I took my daughters there for a summer getaway before school starts. They thought the water park was going to be a lot bigger than it was. I was a bit surprised at the lack of lifeguards. I think I saw two...the whole time. We went to the beach to go snorkling and to our... more
I booked a 1 bedroom unit and was upgraded to a Condo unit upon arrival. Very good sized 2 bdrm, 2 bath with full kitchen and living area. It reminds me of a very nice beachhouse. Limited cable tv stations - CNN, ESPN, USA, Discovery, ABC, NBC, Chinese, Japanese and Korean channels, Golf and the Tourist channel. In unit A/C... more
I have traveled to Guam several time in the last few months. Each time I visit, I make it a point to stay at the Tamuning Plaza Hotel. It is simply a "NO FRILLS" hotel service. I agree with another review I read here. I would rather spend my money away from the hotel rather than a place to sleep.... more
Overall, I enjoyed my stay at Guam Sheraton. It's not Four Seasons or Ritz. For USD200/night, it's a decent place. The room is nicely appointed, and the lunch buffet is outstanding. Pools at Guam Hyatt are beautifully landscaped, but they are too small and crowded for serious swimmers. I'd highily recommend Guam Sheraton to those who want to get away... more
This is definitely an economy hotel, but much better than I was expecting after reading some scathing reviews. The rooms are clean and sanitary and didn't have any problems. It isn't anything brilliant, just your regular bed, TV, refrigerator, phone, etc. Oh, but they do have free wirless internet which was quite speedy. This was a great plus to keep... more
We stayed at the Onward for my son's 9th birthday. The water park wasn't as big as I expected. Within the hour, my husband and I were bored. However, the kids were still very excited and ended up enjoying themselves. After a couple hours, we were ready for dinner and left the park. We had ice cream at the shop... more
Of all my years of travels (15 years and counting), this is by far the worst experience/hotel ever! And I say this with 100% confidence. The worst reviews on this hotel on this site are ALL accurate. All good reviews were obviously made up by the hotel management. This is what I endured: 1)I was staying in Guam for 3... more
When we arrived at 5 am, the receptionist assured us that we were on a non-smoking floor. Walking down the hallway to our room proved otherwise. The smoke was not visible, but the smell was overpowering. No bottled water in the bare minibar. Front desk assured us we could buy water when the ministore opened downstairs at 8 am, but... more
If you are looking for the best rooms on guam, the Sheraton is by far the best place to stay. The rooms are the most updated on the island (very important as it seems like most of the resorts are quite dated) and very comfortable. Keep in mind that Guam caters to Japanese Tourists (about 90% of the tourists) so... more
my crew and i stayed there for 11 WEEKS!!! great location, very clean. GREAT STAFF!!!! from the bar right in the beach to the maids. i was treated like family!! ONE BIG PROBLEM. the managment was overly paranoid and very cold. staying for 11 weeks, you would think that they would relax. but, enjoy the hotel santa fe. it was... more
My name is Howard Blum. I am an economist and journalist. My work takes me on the road frequently in the USA and abroad. Over the past ten years (beyond my frequent domestic travels) I have traveled to Argentina, Belize, Brazil, Cambodia, Canada (3 times), Chile, France, Guam (unfortunately), Guatemala (2 times), Honduras, Italy, Japan (two times), Laos, Malaysia, Mexico... more
Planned to stay 2 nights after reading reviews. Flight arrived early morning into Guam, I checked in and was told by staff that I would not be charged for 3 nights (for night before) as it was early morning checkin and was glad that they could be flexible. So I mistakenly paid for 2 nights upfront, but upon printing out... more
A decent hotel, the Santa Fe is a quaint but quirky place on Guam’s second-busiest tourist area – Tumining Bay. The clientle is almost entirely Japanese and Korean tourists, but the bottom line is pretty attractive – low room rates, decent accommodations, a good beach, out-of-the-way location, a quiet atmosphere and good amenities. Santa Fe is not a beach resort... more
This hotel is great. I can't endorse this hotel enough. My wife and daughter when here in December after a bad stay at another hotel. What a difference the hotel can make. Excellent rooms with a fantastic view. The service was great in English or Japanese and the staff went out of their way. The hotel has a great swimming... more
I read the hotel reviews before I booked. Dont remember any of them commenting on the jet ski nightmare that awaits you in the otherwise lovely and quiet lagoon. Every day, all day, just in front of the hotel its like the Indy 500 out there: dozens of noisy jet skis being driven in circles around 4 buoys in the... more
I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and I must say that I was relieved when I found that the beds were ALOT more comfortable then the other high class-expensive hotels I stayed in such as Royal Orchid, Hyatt & Hilton. Nothing but a good night's sleep to enjoy your day's on Guam. The only negative thing I have... more
Went with both my sons, my niece & her best friend. We had the best time doing everything from snorkeling, riding the banana boat (my favorite), jet skiing, parasailing, & eating a buffet to playing volleyball on the beach, & taking tons of pictures. There's also a dolphin watch, ocean eco tour, cultural show, other beach activites, & a kids... more
I would like to say thanks for the staff at the Santa Fe. They were always polite and friendly. Whenever I needed anything they made sure I had it. I know it wasn't a 5 star hotel but I felt comfortable there and plan on staying there when I go back to Guam. My vacation could only have been better... more
