Econo Lodge

Decided to try this motel based on TripAdvisor Rating. Positives= Staff was pleasant enough. Bedding was clean. Negatives= The rumble from Interstate 81 was more than evident throughout the night. It's as though a piece of bedrock spans the highway and the motel. Hopefully, you're a heavy sleeper. The bathroom and sink were just passable. Would try a different motel... more

I spent the night here so I could be in the area early for a conference. The room was clean and the staff were friendly. If you're on the road and just need a place to crash near 81, this will work for you. There is a Wal-Mart across the street, so you can stock up on groceries or travel... more

While staying at the Comfort Inn across the street, we decided we'd had enough driving for the day so we walked over to the Trattoria Italian for dinner. Our meals were good, perhaps not remarkable, but fresh, well cooked and reasonably priced. We talked to some of the staff for a while and learned the place had just changed hands... more

We stayed at the Martinsburg Comfort Inn Aikens Center one night in early May. We chose it on the basis of Trip Adviser reviews, a modest rate and as a conveniently placed stop on our trip through the area. Our choice turned out to be a good one. This hotel won a recent award from their chain, and it appeared... more

Our bathroom was dirty. The floor mat had visible stains or dirt on it. There were hairs throughout the bathroom. I passed on taking a shower at my fiance's recommendation based on his experience. The bed was uncomfortable and pillows tiny. I contemplated just leaving in the middle of the night, due to the uncomfortable bed and pillows, but we... more

We stayed here on our way back from NYC to NC. We wanted to see some of the local area too such as Harpers Ferry, Shephards Town and Antietam. Good hotel, friendly, comfortable. Great amenities, newly renovated, convenient location, interior hallways, lounges, etc... Martinsburg was a nice quiant town too and we found a good italian restaurant near the downtown... more

My husband and I stayed here while visiting family. The person who complained about it being an older hotel with smokers standing outside must have stayed somewhere else and was mistaken. This hotel has smoking rooms on the fourth floor so there is no reason to stand outside to smoke. There are microwaves, refrigerators, coffeepots and hairdryers in the rooms.... more

The hotel is close to a major road therefore if your room overlooks the road you are in for a bit of noise during the night. Room amenities are standard and service is average. Not good not bad, the kind that you forget about as soon as you walk out the door. Breakfast was very bad. Small choice and not... more

Just your average chain franchise. The food is good and the beer is cold, even if it is a little more expensive than other places. They don't advertise any happy hour specials. Other places try to attract business by offering decent happy hour deals. Overall, I enjoyed my meal. The service was a little below average. Our waitress must have... more

10 of us stayed at this Days Inn, as part of a mini-convention at a nearby hotel. Our rates were better and included breakfast. The rooms and hallways were bright and clean. Everything worked. There was a newly added breakfast area, and there were many nice selections available. There was plenty of parking in the well-lit lot. The hotel staff... more

I stayed at this motel in February 2008. As is customary with most hotels, a government issued ID and a major credit card was required upon check-in. When I checked out, I informed the clerk that I wanted to pay my bill with cash. The clerk appeared to go through all the motions of changing a credit card payment into... more

This was my worst hotel experience ever. I have stayed in several. Arrived around 11 pm, we were very tired from the drive from home...we encountered snow emergency conditons on our way there. Assigned rooms 119 and 121. Rooms were musty, old, there was dead bug in my mom's bed in room 121. Mattresses were old, you could see through... more

We picked this hotel as an overnight stay 1/2 way to our final destination. Arriving very tired, we were promptly given our room key, directions for accessing the free WIFI from room, information about local restaurants, including a 10% discount coupon for the restaurant, information about the breakfast in the morning and proceeded to our room. Room was nice size... more

This is a nice upscale Italian restaurant that serves lunch and dinner. We stopped in for lunch and had a great crab cake. My friend got lasagna and the portion was too big to finish. She got a to-go box. The atmosphere is very nice - a bit like a DC feel but not nearly as crowded. We had a... more

Another late night on I-81. This time I couldn't reach my rural destination because of an ice storm. I backtracked to the highway, and, low on funds, inquired about price. When the desk clerk learned of my situation, he offered me the AARP discount even though I couldn't find my membership card. His helpful and caring attitude helped me accept... more

If you are reading this, then you are probably looking for a good, inexpensive, no-frills hotel to hang your hat for a night before continuing your journey. Well this hotel is GOOD for that. The check-in service was great, and the rooms were very basic but seemed pretty clean and acceptable. The employees were very friendly, and for $60, it... more
