I'm an American who booked by this hotel in Kanchipuram, India, through Clear Trip.com There is not a whole lot of choice of mid-range hotels in this relatively small city....or, at least, the guidebooks only mention a couple. This one is noted as the best, and I wouldn't doubt it. I usually have low expectations of Indian hotels, but this... more

We stayed at Jayabala for 3 nights. The hotel is located within the town in one of the main lanes. For a price of Rs. 880/- per night the place is reasonable. It is a budget accomodation. The room was clean and a/c was working. The noise from the hotel below of cleaning the plates made it difficult for us.... more

Ambience: This place looked well landscaped, maintained and the cottages appeared pretty. The rooms appeared reasonably clean and comfortable. Food: was average and service was not upto the mark - probably because of a huge group that was staying at the resort. All resort staff seemed to be looking after the huge group. Breakfast was reasonably good, but the rest... more

This is a first-class hotel -- clean, bright and comfortable. The air conditioning and hot water really work, and the beds are comfortable. The staff is friendly and pleasant. The hotel is only a 50 rupee rickshaw ride from all the major temples. There is a good selection of TV channels, and internet service is available. My only complaint: The... more

There is nothing international about this hotel. I was unfortunate to stay in this hotel on 12/7/08 &13/7/08. Though i had e mailed & telephoned them ahead for three double rooms when i went I was given a four bed and a double room. As the hotel is sharing part of the building with a famous restaurant, where one gets... more

We are just back from holiday at mahabalipuram..We couldnt pre-book, so went to Sterling directly, as it was next to "Shore Temple". (I had gone through the reviews on Sterling earlier, and they were quite mixed)..It was a long weekend, and most of the resorts were full. In sterling, only one room was available..which was "Royal Suite". As we were... more

The hotel is very well located, literally few steps from the main road. Rooms are confortable and very clean. The experienced staff was nice. I was delighted by the restaurant, even if a bit expensive, the food is very good and the manager is a professional, very kind and helpful. The rental rates are very reasonable Rs 1400 about €... more

I stayed at the MM Hotels in October 2007. The experience was, unfortunately, far from good, which is why I am writing this review. The hotel is rather dirty. When we opened the door, ca. 20 cockroaches in all sizes run away in all directions. They were also climbing the walls and the cupboards in the room (not just the... more

My husband, seven year old daughter and I stayed for three nights over a long weekend. The hotel is in the middle of the village but is a litle oasis of peace and quiet. It's within easy walking distance of all the sights. The room was spotless, maybe showing a little wear in some parts, but generally in very good... more

We have just returned from a two night stay at the Sterling Resort. The room was run down, dirty and had water damage by the air conditioning. The bathroom was also dirty and had cockroaches and flying ants. When cleaned the fan was left on leaving a stench of drains in the room. The shower was also very basic. The... more

We stayed there three nights after we had made some good experiences with the Sterling Swamimalai resort. Unfortunately this place did not live-up to the standard of its sister hotel. The room we stayed in had seen better days (see photo) which was our first impression of the hotel. The staff is very friendly although they often seemed to be... more

We stayed at this hotel for one night and had to change hotels. The A/C in the room (besides sounding like a jet trying to take off) doesn't really work. The power shuts off all through the night. The rooms are nothing like what the pictures look like and the bathroom in our room smelt terrible. Also, they say they... more

My experience with this resort was totally awful. I had a Sea Cottage room which costs(including taxes) 68$ excluding breakfast. For this price everything in this resort was far below standard and in some instances unacceptable. Down points: - Shabby reception - Shabby room with the cheapes of all possible interiors - Electrical system was a nightmare, half of the... more
