Our original destination was unacceptable, so a friend in Sylva directed us here. They gave us a nice room and were very helpful in terms of directions and suggestions on food and other necessities. Sylva is a quaint town in the mountains of western NC Mountains. Near the college town of Cullowhee, Sylva has quirky restaurants, nice shops and art galleries. The Smoky Mountain Ralilroad Express offers train rides. Visit old Inns, or stay in one of the newer hotels, prefer the Holiday Inn Express on Hwy 23. The folks there are super nice.... more
