I stayed at the Grand Dutchess last night with my husband and two boys, and our dog, who is just under a year old. (It was his first trip... we brought his crate, and as the owner requested, did not leave him alone in the room.) We just returned from a two night stay at the Red Hook Inn and could not be more pleased. The owners Pat and Chef Nabil went out of their way at every opportunity to make sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. IMy daughter goes to Bard College and came down with a terrible case of poison ivy. I needed to check on her and dropped everything to drive there and managed to get a reservation at the Red Hook inn at the last possible minute. We arrived late at night- I was exhausted from driving and it was like entering heaven.... more
