Six Flags Great Escape Lodge & Indoor Waterpark

Oct 29, 2008

Though we could have selected cheaper accomodations elsewhere in the area, we chose to stay here because of the indoor water park and the fun we thought we would have with the family. We were not dissapointed! As one other reviewer said, however, it would probably not make sense to stay here if you did not intend to maximize your... more

We stayed for 3 nights to hike around the Lake George area to see the fall foliage (at its peak!) and the rate was $89 for weekends and $80 for weekdays. Those are great rates for this quality facility. Everything looked clean and smelled fresh. Our room was immaculate. Good quality furniture, comfortable beds, spacious bathroom with classy granite (or... more

Lake George is one of my family's favorite weekend getaways. We have our favorite hotels but due to a last minute decision to get away to Lake George we found that our favorite hotels were booked. In fact, almost ALL the hotels in the area with indoor pools were booked solid so we ended up at the Ramada. I was... more

We stayed at the Red Roof Inn in Lake George over Labor Day weekend 2008. It was very clean and adequate. We have no complaints whatsoever. The staff was efficient, friendly and polite. We would definitely stay there again when we visit the area. The price was very reasonable. It is not a 5 star hotel, but neither is their... more

You literally need days to see everything in this large marketplace. The shop where the cafe is located is loaded with goodies. Gourmet foods, gifts, candles, etc.... The cafe is cute and the food is very good. I would recommend stopping here for a bite and to pick up a few cute items. The cafe is small and there can... more

We were starting our vacation in update NY with a one night stay in Lake George. I was struggling over which local hotel to stay at and found out about this lodge a few days before the trip. The kids have always wanted to go to an indoor waterpark so I decided to book a night here as a surprise... more

The Great Escape Lodge was the PERFECT getaway to celebrate our nine-year-old's birthday!!!! The hotel isn't fancy - you are not at a Westin, get over it! - but it is a a SUPER value for the money. Beds and comfortable and amenities (towels, shampoo, etc.) were better than we expected for the price, though the sleeper sofas are, well,... more

We are local......customers since the early 80's. One of the best places to have either breakfast or lunch. Omelets are the best and even the eggs and toast are better than you will ever find at Denny's, Cracker Barrel or any of the other chains. We travel a great deal and always look for a place that is on par... more

The food is excellent with great selection. The people who work their are warm and friendly. There is a tremedous salad bar with something for everyone. The selection on menu will impress you and prices are inexpensive especially if you get there before 6:30 and take advanage of the early bird specials. This restaurant will have you coming back the... more

I decided to try Ridge Terrace since was told it was where the locals go. It is a bit out of the way from the village, but it was kinda nice to be away from the tourist filled restaurants that are noisy with tons of kids. The place has a very nice ambiance. There is a cocktail lounge where you... more

I have eaten at Ridge Terrace 3 or 4 times and its always been the same. Food is blah, boring selections, bad service, overcrowded tables just to start things off. The menu never changes, just stays the same year after year. They don't use farm fresh produce, I can assure you. They have a "so-called" relish tray, which has to... more

Ridge Terrace is my husband's favorite restaurant. We recently celebrated his 50th Birthday there in June, he remembers going to Ridge Terrace as a child and now we visit there with our son every time we are in the Lake George area.. The food is great, the restaurant is nicely decorated, children's menu is very reasonable. We are looking forward... more

Sweet Basil

I have never bothered to write a review before. This experince forced me warn others. This was without a doubt the worst meal my family has ever experienced. I understand we were in vacation spot and wasn't expecting much. My expectations were down graded once I arrived and saw the decor. It was dark and dingy and hasn't been updated... more

America's Best Inn Glens Falls/Queensbury

This place is disgusting. There was Mold all over the bathroom floor and ceiling. The bathroom ceiling tiles were stained and water logged and there was toilet paper stuffed in the ceiling to prevent further leakage. Our towels we re-used and still damp from the previous morning and they smelled terrible. We saw three "roach" like critters crawlers through the... more

Beware the motel is a health hazard. There is mold growing on the walls, the rooms are beyond dirty, and there is an infestation of bugs I even caught the manager setting up breakfast in his underwear. I spoke to the owner which stated he fired the manager. Hard to fire yourself. more

I stayed here with my 2 children for a reunion weekend with my college friends and their families - we had a total of 2 rooms and 2 suites.
