My wife and I visited NYC in the spring. I could not afford the hotels in Manhattan but a friend suggested we look a few miles out. I'm glad I did. The service was excellent. Hotel: We stayed 2 nights at the Hampton Inn Secaucus and our goal was to visit New York City. We got the "advance purchase" deal through the Hampton Inn website costing us about $100US a night. Stayed here for 5 nights while exploring NYC. Free shuttle to train station was perfect, never had a problem (contrary to what previous travellers said if the shuttle was full they came back for another pickup) and then quick train ride into Penn Station. Club Lounge was excellent as well with very good breakfast and hors d'oeuvres in the evening... more
