We stayed in a lakeview cabin just for a weekend - Oct. 24-26 2008. We had a beautiful fall weekend! Trout Lodge is a wonderful place to enjoy nature and trade your tvs, ipods, and cellphones for campfires, board games, and hayrides. Our stay was overall very relaxing. Plenty of opportunities to get out on the lake via canoes, kayaks, paddleboats, and even a few small sailboats. Pontoon boats are run by staff. Trout Lodge is just like going to away to summer camp but with air-conditioned hotel rooms and full buffets. You can choose from a huge amount of activities: kayaking, canoeing, archery, riflery, mini-golf, climbing towers, hiking, orienteering, horseback riding, etc etc. The basic rooms are like standard hotel rooms but with rustic pine log furniture.
