Carter Plantation for weddings and receptions is a complete ripoff IMO. You are nickled and dimed to death for sub standard treatment and surroundings. The pavillion is nothing more than a glorified gymnasium. With the prices they charge you would think they would have a chandelier or piano for weddings but they don't. Springfield is a small town with a country charm. We have a fruit and vegatable market and fresh seafood. We are 45 minutes from New Orleans and Baton Rouge with some of the best restaurents in near by Hammond and Ponchatoula. Give us a try and I bet you will be back for another visit. more
