We have stayed at 2439 Fairfield several times. The owner, Jimmy, is an awesome host, and really makes us feel like family. The bed is unbelieveable, lots of pillows and a down pillow top make extremely comfortable. There are plenty of antiques and the whole house is beautifully decorated. Lots of noise coming from the rooms. Arriving at night, the neighborhood was dark and uninviting, though the hotel does have a shuttle that will take guests to restaurants. It may be renovated, but it is still pretty rough around the edges. more

The food is top notch. The service is "down home" friendly. The decor is quirky. Yes, the carpet is sticky and they have tvs running in the dining rooms (thankfully the volume is usually very low) and the dishes are all school cafeteria melamine, but I'll overlook the carpet and the tvs and the dishes as long as the place... more
