After a long day;s drive, the Budget Host Mericana Motel hit the spot! A modest. older establishmnet; comfotable clean and bright rooms with the furniture arranged in a relaxing fashion; good place to walk the dogs. Too bad, though, that the outdoor swimming pool was not filled. And try the nearby Palms Supper Club for a good catfish dinne! more

I stayed overnight at the Kingsley as part of my "railfan" weekend - since Ft. Madison is a beehive of train traffic.
