Staying in Galena with friends and decided to make the 45 minute drive to the Field of Dreams. It's a wonderful place, very basic, but you feel connected if you've seen (and enjoyed) the movie. Very cool, the holy grail if you are a baseball fan, or even just a fan of the movie. It's open from April 1st to November 30th, and keep in mind that corn takes time to grow, so if you want to see the field with corn beyond the outfield like it was in the movie ("i'm melting..."), you must... more

This place is a lot of fun if you've seen the movie. I had only seen the movie once, but this place was still cool to see. It's also great because it's free! (Of course there are a lot of things to buy, if you want!) There aren't ever any organized games going on, but there is always a pick-up... more
