I was traveling on business when a local recommended I hit up Centro for dinner. What a wonderful surprise! The menu was extensive and contained a wide-variety of oh-so-delicious items. The wine list -- amazing! I ended up with a seafood pasta that contained scallops the size of hamburger patties. Gosh...it was really good. Don't pass up the bruscetta, either.... more

I recently stayed at the Renaissance Savery Hotel in Des Moines, Iowa. I'm a big fan of Renaissance hotels and was overall very happy with my experience in Iowa. Great location. This historic hotel is set to close down from restorations in March of 2010. The hotel was purchased by Hilton. This hotel is not the same old cookie cutter hotel chain, but rather offers a nice option for those looking to stay in a historic setting.
