Our yearly week long vacation was great at the Sandpiper. There were nineteen in our family group from grandparents to grandchildren. Hunt's Oysters are absolutly the best oysters from Destin to Indian Pass. I havn't tryed Boss's oysters yet in Apalachiacola. Hunt's is hands down the coldest and the has the freshest oysters in the upper gulf. I only wish they would improve they're cooked oysters. Everything about this place is way over-rated. Paid $18 bucks for a shrimp dinner and fries, which was not good. If you must go for the bar/music scene, take alot of cash, because the mixed drinks are $7 and up and bottled beer is $5 - ridiculous! They don't have draft beer or oysters either. more

We traveled from Indiana with our two young children to stay at the Palmetto. The rooms are fairly basic, but have everything you'd need. Rooms were quite clean, staff was very friendly and helpful.
