The Spa of Essex has not one but two relaxation rooms - one with a crackling fire and the other with dimmed lights and incredibly comfy chairs. All the staff is helpful and courteous - the other key to a relaxing spa experience. Who wants to spend $$$ on a treatment and then be confronted with frazzled or rude staff??... more

I just spent the Halloween weekend at the Griswold Inn and it was awesome. For starters, if you haven't been to Essex, it is well worth a stop. A super quaint town on the banks of the Connecticut River. Great historic sea captains' home to peer into, nice little shops and of course, "The Gris"....perhaps the heart of this little... more
