“Beautiful, gracious inn in a gorgeous setting”

Recently my husband and I visited the CA wine country and stayed at this lovely old inn. Situated in the pretty town of Occidental, it is surrounded by hills, forest, and gardens--very romantic setting and each room is decorated with antiques. The staff is very knowlegeable , efficient and friendly and the breakfasts are outstanding!--very conducive to a comfortable stay.... more

As it happens, Occidental is not a perfect location as a base to explore the wine regions, being 30 mins drive from a concentration of vineyards in Sonoma / Russian River. We walked from our bed and breakfast Inn at Occidental to Bistro Des Copains. It is a charming and welcoming restaurant. Although small in size about 15 tables, it was huge in ambiance and culinary skills. We shared the mussels which were divine. Perfectly seasoned and a beautiful delicious taste.
