Was going to the Russian River Brewfest, and this motel was conveniently located next to the Stumptown brewpub. Price was expensive, but given i was staying only one night and Guerneville hotels require 2 night stays on most weekends, it wasnt such a bad deal. The Applewood Inn Restaurant was tremendous. We ate there twice during our four day stay, even though there were many other area restaurants from which to choose. The Inn has just (within the last few weks) changed owners and the new owners are excited to be there. It's a lovely place. The location is absolutely beautiful in the heart of the Russian River Valley. There is a small, old growth Redwood forest right in Guerneville - go there! Several amazing wineries are within a 15-20 minute drive.... more
