A letdown in strong Santa Ana winds has allowed California firefighters to make progress on three major wildfires that have destroyed more than 40,000 acres and hundreds of houses. Some residents are being allowed to return to their homes, and most evacuation orders have been lifted.

We drove in off the street and was surprised to find a nwely remodeled motel for such a reasonable rate. The staff we had contact with was pleasant and helpful. The bed was extremely comfortable and the place was clean. more
