Yes, indeed this is a great hotel. Modern decor and service are great. Two things to consider: a) The air conditioning in the rooms is very cold (cannot adjust the thrmostat at all, it centrally controlled) and extremely humid to the degree that when you get into bed the linens are damp. It looks like a fairy-tale castle. Rooms have no unnecessary luxury, but are clean, with fan, AC, shower and spacious shady balconies with comfortable chairs. As it is situated a bit up-hill, there is usually some wind. The personel is very helpfull and speaks, besides Spanish and English, Dutch and a bit of German. Food is simple, but freshly prepared. more

If you are considering going here, just be beware that this is Venezuela, after all. You are not in Kansas anymore. If you do not speak Spanish, if you are a security freak, or if you must have the comfort and luxury that is provided by most international (English-speaking) chains, I would not recommend going here at all.
