We were in Ashland for the day, when we decided to stay the night. When we checked in the staff didn't seem very interested in talking to us so we went straight to the room. We payed $49 for the one night, the room was very clean, nicely decorated, and in a great location. The pool and hot tub were... more

This hotel was rebuilt after the original burned down. Going in the off season provided a great value. While our room was not plush, it was quite clean and comfortable. Don't expect high end toiletries or Egytian cotton towels, Our room overlooked the lake and being at the end of the hall, provided both side and front windows. Beds were... more

We spent two nights at the Second Wind and had a wonderful stay. We have stayed at this bed and breakfast already two times and would go back next time we are in the area. We loved the Northern Lights room. My husband liked that we could walk in the country and see deer. We also enjoyed sitting by the... more

After reading some of the negative reviews about this hotel we were almost reluctant to stay here but decided to give it a try and were very happy we did. We had stayed here about 10 years ago and had only positive feedback then. Also, keep in mind that there are not a lot of choices in the Ashland area... more

Having stayed at the Best Western in 2007, we made reservations for December 30th 2008. In November 2008 a call was placed to the hotel confirming our reservations for two rooms pool side. When I went to check in there was no reservation for me. And I was told hotel was really full, but I could get a room on... more

I have stayed here about 8x before and always been impressed however the last couple of times I have noticed that its starting to slip some. Just a couple things are obvious from back when it was great the pool area is now just out of control way to many kids doing to many things that arent acceptable and there... more

This motel, which appears to be an old-fashioned, drive-up, motel has been completely redone. The room is very large with a kitchenette and nicely done table with chairs. There's a recliner near the door. Two king-sized beds with nice bedding await. The beds and bedding are first-rate. Beds are firm but comfortable. The rooms are extremely clean. The bathroom is... more

Stayed at this hotel during a trip riding the ATV. Room was average. Breakfast bar was OK, nothing outstanding. We were given a complimentary drink ticket to the bar located in the pool area. You had to walk directly through the pool area to get to it, this meant walking around the pool with your shoes on. Front office staff... more

This place was not as nice as the reviews led us to believe. The carpet was extremely dirty and the room smelled pretty bad. The price was reasonable, but we wouldnt recommend it !! more

This place is amazing. Both Kelly and Mark are wonderful and especially their kids. It felt great staying with them, I had no worries and the rooms were great, big ,and cozy. This tops anything I've ever been at. Their rates are some of the cheapest too! Ohh and the breakfasts are AWESOME! I mean you can sit down and... more

What a wonderful place to stay. Beautiful home, wonderful people! Kelly, Mark and their children make you feel like an extended part of their familly. Even their pets greet you like a long lost friend! And the breakfast was delicious. My mother has dietary restrictions (no milk products). Kelly worked around them and came up with something wonderful that she... more

The Chequamegon Hotel is situated in a lovely spot in Ashland next to the city marina. The views from the common areas, bar, boardwalk, deck, or lakeside rooms are fantastic. The lobby is historically furnished. While the guest rooms have been updated, they are just average. I appreciated the updates to the bathroom and furnishings. However, I don't feel they... more

After reading others' reviews about the new remodel we gave the Hotel C another chance. Three years ago it was a dump...20 years ago it was beautiful. We stayed in a lakeside king that was beautifully redecorated, spotlessly clean, with everything new in the bathroom. The bathroom is small, however, there is another sink near the closet which was great.... more

I very much enjoyed our visit to Ashland. We spent a few days here, walking through the downtown decorated with beautiful murals. Friendly people, a nice path along the edge of Lake Superior. Recomended restaurant: The Deepwater Grille, a.k.a. South Shore Brewing Company. Outstanding food, the traditional walleye was to die for, and the honey pilsner went very well with... more

We chose this hotel primarily because of family who already booked there. The hotel was on the expensive side, especially compared to others we stayed on during this trip -- and that's the reason for 2, not 3, star rating. The hotel itself was clean, staff was friendly, but nothing stood out to justify the price. Nice restaurant across the... more

We recently stayed at the AmericInn during our visit to the Ashland - Lake Superior Area. We were very pleased with the accomodations. The guest rooms and public motel areas were very well kept. The rooms were very quiet, we heard no noise from the hallway , the floor above, the highway or from the wedding reception being held in... more

We recently had a two night stay at the Ashland Americinn with two children ages 7 and 9. We found the pool to be the main attraction. Having a small snack bar in the pool area was helpful in feeding the kids in a pinch. The pool was relatively small but warm and fun for the kids. They had a... more

Easy to find, but not within walking distance of Ashland's downtown. RIGHT on the shoreline of Lake Superior and the views were awesome! Make sure and call the hotel before hand to get a lakeside view, otherwise you'll get a view of the parking lot and no patio. We had a microwave and fridge in room. Walmart is just down... more

We went to Hotel Chequamegon last weekend on our way to Ironwood, MI. Apparently the first time we saw their add on Hwy US-2 we were charmed with the beauty of the place. We were even more attracted once we saw the building itself and the room that were going to stay at. The hotel itself and our room had... more

We chose this hotel because of the great reviews; still we were nervous because of the low price. It is really a nice place. The view was beautiful and the room was very clean. The hotel owners were extremely nice and accommodating. more
