This was an unforgettable trip for us. The wildlife drives, the nature walks, the river cruises were all wonderful. We were the only guests at the lodge in 2007. Eduardo Falcao (whose uncle was featured in National Geographic), owner and guide, is the most knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide. His knowledge of the birds (birds especially) and other wildlife is amazing.... more

The Jaguar Ecological Reserve is situated in the Northern Pantanal and is 110km doen the Transpantaneira road. It is situated in a remote area and there are great chances to see wildlife. In the north Pantanal, for one of the best guides, I highly recommend Ailton Lara, of Pantanal Nature. His calm knowledgeable nature is perfect for the Pantanal. I have taken educational groups of teachers and students since 2004 and must ensure safety of everyone involved. I have never been worried about the safety of my group members with Ailton Lara.... more
