We absolutely loved our trip to Kanuhura! We arrived by seaplane which was amazing! (Make sure you take your camera so you can take photos of the beautiful atolls.) We were welcomed and promptly taken to reception for a refreshing lemonade and then to our room. All of the rooms are small villas and we had booked a beach villa.... more

Well we booked a week long visit to Kanuhura for my birthday. It was a five star resort with great facilities and so on. However it was just atrociously expensive. We can afford to spend money BUT when the cheapest bottle of decent wine is around £100 per bottle you just can't justify it. Thus we had a week of... more

After our Golden Triangle trip in the hustle and bustle of India, we were looking forward to a relaxing week, and we certainly got it. We had a beautiful beach villa on the west side for the amazing sunsets and our housekeeper was superb (though the butler favoured our neighbours much more than us for some reason, they were Italian... more

Went to Kanuhura for 2 weeks in February with my wife and 3 year old. After our overnight direct Air Lanka flight from London we were met at the airport and transferred within an 1 hour for our sea plane transfer. Forty minutes later we were being put in a beautiful beach villa near the Kids club about 100m to... more

It was our first visit to Kanuhura and the Maldives , so we cannot compare with the One & Only experience in the Maldives. Although we got to know the Kanuhura because of our past visits to other One & Only resorts. The very good comments about the Kids-Club at Kanuhura made us decide to go there instead of the... more

This was our 2nd trip to Kanuhura (1st was as a One&Only). The service at the airport wasn't as thorough and a 3 hour wait for a seaplane was totally unnaceptable - poor planning. The island looks the same but doesn't feel the same. The majority of staff were beyond excellent and our butler was superb. The cost to eat... more

We went to kanahura after 5 days at the Reethi Rah. Kanahura is a bit more lowkey and less extravagant than Reetih Rah, but has it’s charm of it’s one. It’s simplicity good diving close by and relaxed atmosphere made for a very good stay. And the trip over with the Maldivian air taxi is always an experience on it’s... more

It was our 4th visit to this wonderful island but the 1st since being taken over by SunResort. Not much had changed in a year except the price of the food. We choose not to take Meal Plan when we first booked our holiday but now wished we had. In the main restaurant which was buffet style the cost was... more

Kanuhura remains a beautiful place, change of management has made a few changes, nothing too noticeable. More like Le Tousserok as Mauritian influence now. Being return guests we were invited to the managers cocktail evening which was fun and enabled us to see the beautiful huge villa he lives at!! Stayed in a water villa this time which I much... more

This was the third time my wife and I went to Kanuhura, but this was the first time the hotel has been under Sun Resorts management. Our initial perception was nothing had changed - indeed we recognised some of the staff dent, but said they don't have control to ensure it wouldn't happen again. This is a private island, encouraging... more

This reveiw is a little overdue- we stayed at the beautiful Kanuhura for our honeymoon from the 11th to the 25th Aug 2008. We were not dissapointed. From the moment we landed at Male airport, Kanuhura cast a spell. We were met by a Kanunhura Rep who checked our baggage in for the seaplane transfer and whisked us off to... more

Good accommodations, good service, good food. None of them exceptional, however. Given the price you pay you expect a bit more, and you usually get a bit more. But maybe our relative dissatisfaction relates to something else. We have been to the Maldives 12 times by now. This is our first time in an island where there's no reef for... more

Having spent the last year researching and reading reviews of this hotel i was concerned it may not live up to my expectations. Well it did and more. The island is beautiful and service excellent. As soon as you land in Male you are looked after and this continues until you go back through passport control at the end of... more

Spent 7 nights in November in Kanuhura on honeymoon and it was absolute bliss. Service was second to none and the island was beautiful. Here is a few of the small details that make the whole island so good. Good Points *Food freshly cooked and tastes yummy *Staff magically knowing our names *Even when it rained (which it did on... more

If your idea of a holiday is beautiful surroundings, warm sea, empty white sand beaches and hot sun, then Kanuhura is your ultimate destination. My wife and I spent 11 nights in November in one of the brilliant water-villas and had a truly superb holiday. Not a place for heavy drinking or disco-dancing but to enjoy sophisticated and luxurious relaxation... more

We spent lovely two weeks in Kanuhura with our 3 year old daugther. We enjoyed every minute on that island. From landing in Male to take off again from Male, extremly nice people tried to make a perfect holiday for us.We think the "heart" of Kanuhura is the staff and their service. My wife and I spent a fabulous week at Kanuhura Resort & Spa for our honeymoon and we loved everything about it. The setting was idyllic, the facilities were first class, the spa was invigorating, the staff were friendly and the marine life was amazing! This place is quite simply paradise. My wife and I have just returned from a 12 day honeymoon and I can honestly say it was worth every penny. Those who have booked or are contemplating booking will know that paradise in the form of Kanuhura does not come cheap but I would encourage anyone to make the trip. I have... more
