We spent three nights at the Spa Hostel while travelling around Japan and were pleasantly surprised at how roomy the on suite rooms (with a huge shower room) were compaired with other hostel and hotel rooms in Japan. There are two areas of Beppu - this ryokan is in the onsen area away from the station/central area. We caught a bus and the driver was able to drop us almost at the door.
