If you'll be in Xiamen for just a few days, stick with the local fare. There's plenty of options, and Fujian has some of the best seafood in China. But, if you've had your fill of jiaozi and chaofan, and are looking for a taste of home, then Red Armadillo is it! Forget Pizza Hut and KFC, trust me. Just... more

This is probably my 50th time in China and I'm pretty used to bad service, pollution, tardiness, and rude people. I was pleasantly surprised by the service at the Best Western. When I described my trip to my friends, I say the service at the hotel is better than the Peninsula in Hong Kong! I arrived the Xiamen airport and... more

We stayed here because it was near a factory we were visiting. At first sight the facility was beautiful, luxurious, and spa like. THe grounds are very pretty, lobby had free wifi, and the next door proximity to the hot spring was all very interesting. The rooms had a large tub to soak in overlooking your own outdoor patio. The... more

My husband and I were travelling on a tour of Fujian and we stayed here over the Easter break. The hotel is a business hotel and it is in excellent condition. We had the breakfast buffet which was packed with people but overall the service was very good. I had an in-room massage which was very expensive for Xiamen but... more

As previously mentioned, it is just a campus. But, it's very important to this city and is one of the top-rated universities in China. It would be hard to imagine a college campus in China being more gorgeous than this. Just take a leisurely walk around campus if you have a free sunny afternoon- you probably won't regret it. more

I had a residential suite for a few weeks that I was staying at the Millennium Xiamen and I was extremely happy with the hotel. Excellent staff - they're very friendly and understand that there is a huge language problem out on the streets so they came out with me and helped translate from English to Chinese whenever off-duty and... more

My favorite is the locally popular "Sa Cha" noodle bowl with your pick of ingredients. Cost about RMB 6-9. It is the "1980" store located at the farthest (Eastern end) of Zhongshan Rd. The worst one is the the very crowded and extremely dirty peanut soup store front of the KFC along Zhongshan Rd. west end. Food is deep fried... more

My SO and I have stayed in a wide range of hotels in China, in a wide range of places. Our suite at the Marine Garden was above average, but not quite "very good". Carpets were very stained and like other hotels we've stayed in, even very high end ones, the carpets are not vacuumed daily. As other reviewers have... more

This is a very good family style hotel that had both business people and Chinese families staying when we visited. There is not much to add to the other reviews except that the restaurants are very good and the harbor-view rooms are worth the upgrade. I would rate the hotel as excellent except for the lack of any real non-smoking... more

I have heard of the famous and popular vegetarian food here. I love my meat but decided to give it a try. My Uncle's friend did the ordering, You can choose 8, 10 or 12 course meal. It is a fixed menu so you cannot choose the dishes. We chose 10 course meal and got a bit worried because there... more

I had a bad experience with Sofitel Shanghai but this hotel is the complete opposite. Upon reaching the hotel, the Reception was very professional in handling our check in. She even recommended that we take the Club Floor rooms so that we can enjoy more comfort for a small fee. I have to thank her for that as I love... more

I went with a group of teenagers for their Senior Trip. We stayed for 4 days and it was a good stay. We stayed in the villas instead of the main building. The bedrooms, bathrooms and living rooms were clean and comfortable. It's toward the small side but good enough. The staff were mostly friendly and helpful. While their English... more

I was told by my relatives and friends that I have to visit this place. They visited Gulangyu 15 years ago and love it.
