Mostar was probably the highlight of our trip around the Balkans even though I hadn't been that keen on going across from Monte Negro to Bosnia. Unfortunately we missed Majda's famous tour, but Majda's hostel was a good jumping off point for a great stay in Mostar nonetheless. Majda was very helpful in mapping out important sights and a few hidden gems, and made coffee and deserts as unexpected treats. Mostar is a picture perfect medieval city with the highlight being the Mostar Bridge. We went on a daytrip whilst staying in Dubrovnik. The old bridge was over 400 years old but was destroyed during the Bosnian war in 1993. The 'new' old bridge was opened in 2004 and it's a marvellous sight.
