The apartments were very clean and spacious, and the breakfast on the roof was great. The Red Cafe served excellent food in a Warhol-inspired decor, or outside in the garden. On-going cultural programs include film, lectures and dance, as well as debates about civil society. more

Stayed for 4 nights at Les Fleurs after reading reviews on Trip Advisor. Boutique hotel with huge attention to detail and some lovely touches. Hotel is on the main shopping street right in the middle of Sofia, so is a superb location for all the sights. Pros: cheap & clean. Cons: you need to negotiate taxis all the time and not all drivers speak English or know where hotel is. Staff speaks basic English and can't advise on activities or restaurants. If I knew exactly what to do in Bulgaria it's fine, but we needed more help from a concierge. Location is too far outside downtown... more
