While the hotel was clean and in a good location serving good breakfasts & desserts, their bathrooms in particular room 316 that this hotel claimed to being adapted for the disabled is dangerous. Their description of this room being adapted on their website is totally misleading. The marble flooring, which is slippery when wet, the lack of handrails, poor lighting,... more
A very good and comfortable hotel of, what you can call, Western standards. The staff speaks fluent English, the breakfasts are very good, rooms and bathrooms are spacious and clean. As Minsk is such a big and wide city, it's even hard for me to say whether the hotel is somewhere close to the center or not ;) One thing... more
is unbeliveble how you can find this super-restaurant in a small own like Minsk. Definitly, spanish people go to make business everywhere. I was suprice, good food, good service, the best atmosphera... only i dont like that we need 20 minutes to get a table, because there was many people. GOOD RESTAURANT. But the dress of waiter, ridiculous... more
+ friendly staff, clean, good service, good food in restaurant - waiters / waitresses sometimes slow more
What a beautiful city! So orderly and sparklingly clean! You can physically feel the loving care that the citizens give to their home town. So many architectural gems! Loved it. more
I go to Minsk every two months, for business, i know all the restaurants there; and no doubts, the best is Casa Agustin Lopez, in English means Agustin Lopez´s House. International food, with strong accent in Spanish food, very good atmosphere, good service, and gorgeous girls there. You can not go to Minsk and not to visit this restaurant-disco. Only... more
As all other Minsk hotels were full due to (communist party ?) congresses I opted for this low-graded far-from-the-centre soviet style hotel. Somewhere I read the building looks like it was taken straight from the centre of Mogadishu and that is correct, especially since similar buldings around this hotel look much nicer. Inside it much better, nice reception folks, english... more
This micro-brewery (brovar) produces 12 kinds of beer, I tried the Starovilenskoje and it was great. Food is typical Belarussian. The interior is very tasteful and has a good feel. The waitresses speak English too. more
At a good price rate, there is not much to be expected, but the carpets and furniture in general were old , so value for money is good, nevertheless it can be improved with little effort more
Visited Minsk last summer, left with very good impression, mostly because this is very clean town with friendly people. I 'd recommend to approach younger people if you need to ask smthing. Usually they speak better Engish. Met 1 guy-very helpful if you go there: [--] more
Arrived at the Europe Hotel after our tour company changed us from Minsk Hotel. Fantastic. Arrived into the hotel through a very bright and airy foyer area. Up the internal glass lift to our room (608). It was more a suite than just a room. It was really spacious and very clean. We had french doors opening to a lovely... more
The remains of the village of Khatyn (Хатынь) which was destroyed by the Germans in WW2 have been used to create this memorial. The village symbolises all the towns and villages which suffered a similar fate at the hands of the Nazis. 186 cubes, respresent each of the larger villages destroyed. The peaceful location of Khatyn, is located within the... more
Hotel Yubileny has a good location close to the city centre. Rooms are clean nice. Nice staff. The restaurant used 80 minutes to prepare our diner. The food was ok. more
While I would generally rate this hotel average, I instead rated it very good considering its location (right near the metro, although a little far out from central Minsk) and that you get the feel just from being in Belarus that it is a country that misses being communist, so standards are somewhat lower. The hotel and the rooms were... more
Not having been to Eastern Europe in almost 15 years, I didn't know what to expect from the Hotel Minsk. I was pleasantly surprised throughout my stay. The rooms, true, aren't huge, and the mattress isn't exactly a Hyatt pillowtop. But the bathrooms are modern, and everything during my six-day stay was spotless. The service was professional, efficient, and friendly... more
I stayed at the Hotel Minsk at the end of June by myself for three nights. The one suggestion that I would make is to get a high floor overlooking the square...preferably a room with a balcony , or french balcony. The view of the Stalanist square was probably my favorite part of the hotel. Especially watching the kids, couple,... more
Nice hotel. Located right in the center of Minsk's downtown. Walking distance to an underground subway station, many restaurants, stores, university, museums. A bit outdated and small rooms. My room had a view on the central Nezalezhnast' square, which was a great view. Service is typical for a former soviet country. Very small beds, not a queen sized, as we... more
This tour was poorly pre-planned. It was impossible to carry out the tour in 20 days to an acceptable level. The expectations for the tour - driving quite long distances to enable a reasonable amount of sightseeing - were not achieved. The tour treated us as guinea pigs; in that this was the first time it had been included in... more
It was a different city to look through. There is not much for helping the tourist and if you want an english speaking hotel I suggest the Hotel Planet as all staff spoke English. I took the Metro most places as it was 15min walk from my hotel it was not much of a walk and you go past a... more
