The past reviews are exactly right. We went for our honeymoon so wanted a quiet holiday somewhere beautiful. We got that but that was all. The location is five star but the resort is barely three. A pity because it could be so much better. Then you wouldn't mind the five star prices. Yes the birds make a hell of... more

We stayed in Ramada Plaza on way back to NZ after staying at Vanuatu. Our flights had been changed so our travel agent arranged a room upgrade for us and we had a lovely suite with kitchen on the 17th floor. We could not fault the room or wonderful views but New Caledonia as we expected is expensive. A basic... more

Scenic, windy during lunch, romantic for dinner. The seafood and chicken is good. Salad wasnt very appetizing. Average price. You can't run from the prices in Noumea, everything is expensive. more

Great Hotel located just off the Bay. Lovely cozy clean rooms with larger-than-king sized bed, glass-walled bathroom, kitchenette with utensils (except cutting knife !!) but we ate out every day, free LAN-internet, cozy balcony with view of the street. Breakfast is pricey and spread is very limited. There is a Grocery store nearby, we had homemade tuna/sardines sandwiches on the... more

We stayed six nights at the Le Pacifique in October 2009. It was a great experience, the hotel is in a very good location with restaurants very close by, beach across the road, bus at the front door and tourist information office just out the front too. The pool at the Le Pacifique is huge and kept very clean. The... more

We stayed 6 nights at the Le Pacifique first and then 6 nights at the Ramada Plaza and the Ramada Plaza was definitely the better of the two hotels. Obviously they are two totally different levels of facilities, but the Ramada was simply a great place. The Good stuff: - Large rooms, most with full kitchens with everything, bowls, cutlery... more

One of the best parts of our New Caledonia trip, snorkelling with Aquanature was a great day. We travelled to a deserted island and snorkelled off the reef there, seeing an amazing array of sea life, then we went to a second reef location and jumped off the boat for more stunning underwater scenery. I would highly recommed Bernard's smaller,... more

I visited with my partner and friends who were celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary. The resort was very nice with all of the usual amenities, but on a stay of four or more days I'd recommend looking at an alternative to the restaurant. It is very expensive - about $300 (AUD) for two, two courses with wine. We actually bought... more

We stayed in a two bedroom apartment on the 9th floor with views of Anse Vata beach. The location of this apartment complex could not be better - restaurants and shops at your doorstep, two beaches to choose from, bus stop outside the complex and about a 40 minute walk to the centre of town. The apartment was huge with... more

Living in La Promenade while working in New Caledonia. Great hotel in the best location in the city. Decent pool and excercise facilities, however the internet connection is poor. During peak times it is difficult to establish a connection. Other then that, great hotel...and as already stated, great location. Everything you need for a short or extended stay in Noumea.... more

We stayed for a couple of nights in May and had prepaid on a '2 for 1' deal via our travel agent which included breakfast. The room we stayed in was lovely and very spacious as well as luxurious. It was so handy being along the beach and the view from our balcony was spectacular. The porter was lovely and... more

Went to Le Roof Friday night at 6.45pm when it just opened. We were the first customers. This was our first trip to Noumea. We had seafood for starters and Fish and steak. As it was a cold and windy night I felt the cool air, the manager was so nice that she gave me a shawl to keep me... more

A friend and I stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment at Casa Del Sole for 3 nights. We found the rooms very comfortable, although it probably needs a bit of updating. The staff are friendly and speak limited (but enough) English. The apartment was very large with a decent sized balcony off the living room overlooking the ocean. There was... more

We looked at a lot of hotels and serviced apartments on TripAdvisor before choosing this one. Mostly because it was all we could sanely afford. As others have learnt in other reviews, and we prepared for, we brought washing powder, salt/pepper, dish washer tablets and washing up liquid with us from home (as we found the Noumean grocery prices were... more

On a terrific week's stay in Noumea our family of 4 - husband, me, and our son and daughter (a vegetarian) in their twenties - we ate at Bellagio's on 3 nights. Not to say other places were not good - but Bellagio's was fantastic. Each meal I personally had - was the most enjoyable of its kind I had... more
