Traveler Reviews on Abu Dhabi

Beach Rotana Hotel & Towers

2 of 5 stars
Chicago, Illinois
Nov 15, 2008

Originally put into "old" part of the hotel. Room was on floor above an atrium with the ballroom below. There was a function in full swing when we checked in and the band sounded like it was in our room! Immediately asked for room change. Very unhelpful. After HUGE row which lasted a couple of hours with phone calls back... more

One to One Hotel - The Village

Nov 14, 2008

It's a nice hotel, the staff are great, the rooms are big, it's clean and comfortable, the food isn't bad (although the steaks, good as they are, are not really as good as some people suggest). BUT IT'S DRY. Whatever the web site may suggest, NO ALCOHOL IS SERVED ANYWHERE IN THIS HOTEL. If that matters to you, you have... more

Novotel Centre Hotel Abu Dhabi

Nov 14, 2008

Having stayed in numerous business hotels around the world this one has to be the most depressing. It's dark, dingy, smokey and ridiculously overpriced. I payed over £200 per night to stay in what was no better than a travelodge. The only saving grace was that the rooms were actually quite clean and the staff were ok. Advice for travellers... more

International Rotana Inn

The only available hotel in the date i booked, i didnt spend too much for my room. I didnt get much as well. Basic rooms with old furniture (when i entered it i thought i was back to my 70's parents bathroom!). The worst thing was that i couldnt find a parking place for my car (there is a parking... more

Novotel Centre Hotel Abu Dhabi

Nov 10, 2008

I've stayed at Novotels around the world and this is very different - it has the tiniest rooms and rather old fashioned decor. I'm not sure if Novotel head office know that this hotel is using the Novotel name... Service was fine, location ok. more

Mafraq Hotel

5 of 5 stars
Saudi Arabia
Nov 9, 2008

If you need an airport stopover you can do no better than the Mufraq. It's 15 minutes by taxi from Abu Dhabi Airport. The rooms are very large and comfortable with all the amenities you need. The staff were courteous and helpful. The food was great. It's an inexpensive, unpretentious place; and that's an unusual thing in Abu Dhabi. It... more

Emirates Palace

Having read previous reviews which were mixed, we went to the Emirates Palace with an open mind. Being big fans of Dubai, we knew it would be that much quieter but were prepared for this. However, we arrived on a Friday night when Christina Aguilara was playing and reception was busy so we were left sitting at a table for... more

Me and my mother decided to end our lovely 3 day midweek break off with a stay at the beautiful and tranquil resort, little did we know what was in store for us... Upon checking in we were informed that there was a "Plastic Party" on and that this will last till twelve. The blundering music did not bother us... more

Desert Islands Resort & Spa

Nov 7, 2008

We had a long weekend for our childs birthday at the end of October. After already knowing that it did not have a "grog" licence we took our own, so we had no issues on that area, however this would probably be an issue for tourists, but I would recommend that they just get a bottle from the airport duty... more

Hilton Abu Dhabi Hotel

Hampshire, UK
Nov 4, 2008

Stayed here for a week and booked through emiratesresorts.co.uk who were very good. Had 2 rooms as was traveling with 2 children. Were not Hilton members but stayed on executive floor and that proved to be a good option (about £20 pp/per day extra) as breakfast and afternoon tea and canapes were included, along with various drinks, also of the... more

The hotel is some 2 hour drive from Abu Dhabi with nothing but desert en route. The hotel and especially the staff were excellent throughout our stay. Lovely beach and never overcrowded the same can be said for the pool area. Buffet breakfast was excellent as were the evening meals we also tried the Italian which was also very good... more

We arrived at the Millenium at 8.30 AM - seeking an early check-in! We were shown up to the Club Lounge on the 15th floor and were told that a room would be found for us as soon as possible. Half an hour later we were shown to our room - we had been upgraded to a Club Suite -... more

Beach Rotana Hotel & Towers

Nov 4, 2008

Stayed in the Abu Dhabi Beach Rotana for one night in October 2008 while in AD on business. I have to give this hotel a neutral rating as the pros and cons balance each other out. Pros: 1. Fantastic restaurants. One previous review stated they have the best restaurants in the city, and that's the truth. 2. Comfortable room/bed. Had... more

Beach Rotana Hotel & Towers

Just returned from this Hotel, The view from the hotel is awful, the sea is dirty from all the building work. We had 3 rooms as there were 6 of us in our party. Myself and my Husband, our 2 teenage kids and my Parents, On arrival they got our room allocations all wrong. We had two rooms on the... more

My husband and I just spent 3 days at the Desert Islands Resort & Spa on Sir Bani Yas Island off the coast of Abu Dhabi. Since we couldn’t find any reviews nor reports about the opening on Oct. 1st, we didn`t know what to expect. And were a bit worried that we might be their only guests - but... more

I had a graet misfortune to stay in Le Meridian in Abu Dhabi only this week. The hotel is one of the most depressing hotels I have ever stayed in. It is gloomy, old fashion, not very clean room for all that and the room 580 overlooks what they would describe as a seeview?! Yes, you do see a see,... more

Al Maha Rotana Suites

Nov 1, 2008

The hotel was clean and comfortable. The room was not spacious but it was good enough. The view from the window was terrible all concrete towers all around. It was hard to find without GPS assistance. But the hotel was a good value for money. It was clean, comfortable, good services and the price was not high. more

Al Raha Beach

Nov 1, 2008

I was slightly concerned by the negative reviews, especially as it was not the cheapest holiday I have ever had. But no need to worry, total luxury from start to finish. We flew with Ethiad - best flight I have been on to date, even had seat back TVs which showed the pictures from two cameras on outside of plane... more

The Yacht Club

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
Oct 29, 2008

This restaurant and bar opened just a few days ago. It is located in the excellent InterContinental Hotel in Abu Dhabi and overlooks the marina, with indoor and outdoor seating. There is a resident DJ playing mostly lounge music. The surroundings are opulent and very modern - wood floors with steel and glass. There's a nautical feel throughout with sails... more

We stayed at the Hilton International for the six nights of this break in Abu Dhabi and then we moved for the last three nights to Le Meridien because there was a three nights for the price of two offer. This hotel is also being demolished in a couple of years and it needs to be. On the whole the... more
