Went recently for lunch with a big group, including both locals and foreigners. This is such a typical Beiruti see-and-be-seen place, even though the food is not worth it. * Food: nothing original and the fish (even the red snapper, i.e. the Sultan Ibrahim) was quite oily, which is a sign of a bad kitchen. I have just returned from my 1st trip to the Lebanon and I had a fantastic time. We stayed at the Le Commodore for 4 nights and I found it more than adequate for what I needed. I stayed there for one night only. The hotel is new, good design and furniture but still you could see some of lack of quality finishing which need to be observed during their cleaning process.
