First up, if you're expecting an authentic Japanese experience (in Saudi Arabia?!), this isn't the place. In fact, in Saudi Arabia, I have no idea where that place might be. Shogun does 'Asian' food with a slightly Middle Eastern twist; the food is teppanyaki style and they also have a sushi bar. There's far more use of dairy products and... more

Following on from my first review, I stayed a further 6 weeks, after which, I could take no more! I had to move rooms four times in six weeks. On one occasion, returned to my room to find the bath in the middle of the lounge area, the plumber who was working in the room had gone for the night... more

Bassel, Beirut, Lebanon Generosity in every aspect is what differentiate this hotel from others of its class(inside and outside Saudi Arabia) from the friendliness and dedication of the staff, to food, to lounge service, .... Its location is strategic specially if you are coming on business. It's very closeby from the major business hubs but at the same time away... more

The hotel is well kept, clean and of decent standard. But the restaurants and shops are as boring as they only get in a international hotel chain. more

The Intercon was a disappointment for me. The rooms and common areas (eg lobby and restaurants) are dated and in a bad need of a renovation, despite its branding and premium pricing. Location was also an issue. Its isolated away from anything. The location map in the hotel's web page is very misleading. The property is very large and the... more

This being my fourth trip to Saudi in as many months I've come to expect a level of quality and service that in many ways surpasses U.S. hotel stays. I am a businesswoman who in every aspect of travel in the Kingdom has been treated royally until to my surprise I checked into the Marriott. I have been treated with... more

Saudi Arabia is what you want to make of it .I have been here 2 yrs and have tried to see as much of the place as possible. Forget and stop moaning how restricted you can be here ...why did you come ????? get out and see it ...its a great place full of history and very entertaining...at times....... more

I have recently stayed in the Intercontinental and enjoyed the stay very much. Coming in through the hydraulic anti-ram barrier is a bit daunting but after spending some time in Saudi you get used to the enhanced security and it simply becomes a part of your every day life. The room I had was great, a large Queen bed in... more

Al Ula, home of Madein Saleh is a worthwhile trip to make from Riyadh, Yanbu, or Jeddah. It is a fabulous place with lots of Nabatean (sp ) ruins. I have heard good things abou the Arac hotel and usually about the Madein Saleh hotel. It looks like the MSH is going downhill however. I personally had a trip scheduled... more

Convenient location in the center of Riyadh, within a few blocks from the Al-Faisaliyah tower. Comfortable rooms of adequate size. The room with the queen size bed comes with a comfortable sofa and a side chair. Flat Panel TV. Recently decorated rooms look very nice. Very quiet. Nice bathroom. For what I seek for a business trip, it is a... more

The hotel appeared to be brand new and indeed is built literally in the shape of a cruiseship. The maritime theme goes all the way - even the waiters are wearing sailor outfits. It feels a bit like Las Vegas without gambling and alcohol. Service was very friendly, and helpful, the rooms comfortable but not entirely well planned. I had a... more

Al Faisaliah doesn't disappoint, you won't be here for leisure, so you want a hotel that is comfortable, efficient and offers a broad range of services. Location is central but as a low rise building, the views are nothing remarkable. Rooms are spacious and well equipped with extremely large bathrooms. All are spotless and everything works. Hotel prides itself on... more

Typically stay at the Intercon in Riyadh but that one was fully booked. Opted for Novotel Al Anoud and wasn't disappointed. This is a relatively new 5 star hotel in the commercial district of town, next to the famous Kingdom Tower. Overall style is trendy/design. Lobby is nice, albeit a bit impersonal. Rooms are pretty, clean and well furnished. Airco... more

Am a frequent visitor (business traveller) of the Intercon in Riyadh. It's not a bad hotel but it doesn't compare to Intercons anywhere else in the world. It's all a bit dated... Its strong points are food (great breakfast and dinner buffets), the gym and swimming pool. However, do expect a fair number of locals with their kids crowding the... more
