This tourist resort was a wonderful mix of kitsch, bewilderment and discovery. Being in a Third World country we were very curious as to what we would be getting for the paltry sum of USD40 a night for two, breakfast inlcuded. I have heard so much about the famed Mekong river. Finally got a chance to visit the place. We arrived at Ho Chi Minh City and reckoned the best way to see the place is not to hang around the touristy places. (If you go on the tour buses, don't expect to see anything unusual.) An agent booked this as part of an overnight trip to the Mekong Delta from HCMC. It was a disappointment. The agent (Topas Adventures) referred to the "nice bungalows" in the "resort" in their description - so we expected more than we got.
