We arrived in Ha Noi at 4:30am from a sleeper bus, tired, wet and grumpy, and asked to be dropped in the old quater (city centre). We ended up at the Hanoi Gecko - A lovely clean, reasonably cheap, best-value-for-money hotel run by the most helpful and friendly of staff. Small rooms but clean with funky design. Perfect for the solo traveller. The computers in the room are a great idea. Good breakfast. Friendly staff. I was really happy with this hotel and would highly recommend it. more

This hotel just opened in June 2009 and I guess we were one of the 1st clients there.
