My wife and I stayed in a thatched roof cabana for 4 nights. Living like the locals is a little like 'roughing it' by American terms. We had to use the air conditioning several nights because we could not sleep comfortably - hot & humid even at night. The view was great from our front porch - Wow. Very relaxing... more

This cluster of well-priced cabanas under tropical trees is owned and operated by a charming family. It is just outside of San Ignacio on the Mopan River, but is within easy walking distance to the town, which is also charming. Like the town itself, Midas is not over-developed.
