El Guacamayo is a truly unique experience. Larry has set up an amazing 21st century lodge, where one is able to appreciate and enjoy the great outdoors while still having the benefit of solar-powered electricity and clean, drinkable running water. We went to caves branch last July (before the pool) and had the treehouse suite. It was the most expensive part of our trip but the treehouse suite is so worth it. You can't even compare the standard bungalows with the treehouse suites. We walked to the bungalows which were set back from the river and were swarmed by mosquitos.... more
