I didn't know what to expect given the price was so low - I was very happy all around. It's definitely a newer hotel, modern. Breakfast in the morning is very delicious; the espresso machines turn out some very good mocha at no cost to you. I didn't bring a converter for Europe and I was able to borrow one... more

Anyone who lives in Budapest for any length of time knows about the reality of Szimpla Kert. Its beer is watered down. The 'security' outside is run by the local mafia and the vast majority of its clientele are non-Hungarians. There are so many great bars in Budapest, so please don't support such a terrible example.
