We had two fantastic nights at the Alpine. We have 4 young children and there was plenty of space. We had TV trouble when we checked in and the owners went out of their way to fix this small problem for us. The spa bath was excellent when the weather was wet it gave the kids something to do. The live in managers at this complex (Nelson and Jan) are abusive and rude. We were repeatedly harassed during out stay and the service certainly was not up to scratch. Avoid this place!!! more

Nice place for the quiet weekend, probably the only “hotel style” accommodation in Taupo and very good alternative to Taupo’s motels. The rooms in the new wings are modern, comfortable, well equipped, but rather small. The rooms in the old wings have no air conditioner and a bit tired. 2 small pools, but could overcrowded during hot summer days. 2... more
