We hadn't booked anywhere in Bressanone and initially looked at the Best Western. As is usual, we asked to look at a room and immediately decided it wasn't for us - old furniture/furnishings and a nice big stain in the middle of the carpet! If you are looking for a full service or friendly, quaint hotel in the Dolomites, do NOT stay at Goldenes Rossl. The hotel is also known in Italian as 'Cavallion d'Oro'. The reservationist (who turned out to be the manager, Anna Stolz) failed to mentioned until the day prior to our arrival that the entire hotel staff had vacation days.... more

Wellness and trekking hotel run by the same family for 6 generations. Located in the centre of the village of Velturno, on the mountain above Bressanone-Brixen. Daily mountain activities (trekking, nordic walking, mountain bike), indoor and outdoor pool, sauna and spa, beauty farm. Great cuisine, friendly staff, pleasing and well organised activity. I would definitively recommend it. more
