As a resident of the town I have somewhat overlooked this place but on the couple of visits recently I have been pleasantly surprised at the excellent quality of the cooking. The waitresses are all young with not a great idea about service but overlook this and enjoy. more
Staff are pleasant and helpful. The location and views over Buxton are amazing. The leisure facilities are good for an old hotel. The Christmas decorations in the main reception were a fantasic sight to see. more
None of the hotels in the area get good reviews so we weren't exactly spoilt for choice. We chose this hotel on the strength of the later reviews, we should have looked at some of the older reviews for the true picture. As others have said the outside of the hotel is depressing, the parking tricky. Inside it's very uninviting... more
