I stayed in Hotel Hermes for two nights during the summer and i enjoyed a relaxed weekend. Great view from our room to the olive valley and to the sea of Itea makes you forget all the trobles you have with your work etc The same view from the breakfast room. The staff on the reseption was very helpful giving... more

Amalia Hotel

Its one redeeming feature is the view – nothing else! Oh, and it does have a pool. Our room was a shocker. The surround (door jamb) at the entry to our room had been virtually pulled away. Left no security in the room – anyone could have entered. Forget a safe – Amalia hotels don’t seem to have them. As... more

A small, very comfortable, family-run hotel with amazing views down the valley to the Gulf of Corinth. Rooms are very large, bathrooms well-appointed, and the staff friendly. Located in the middle of the village so that everything is convenient. You could walk to the historical site easily, although in summer you'd be best to start out as early as possible. more

The whiners are overdoing it--at least for the room we had off season on the top floor; I imagine one of their best. Yes the furnishings were simple. But we saw no dirt or other problems. It's an old family-run place in need of an upgrade, but I imagine that's why we had the best room in the house. The... more

Hotel Varonos

Jul 13, 2008

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Varonos for two nights in May 2008. We chose this Delphi hotel after consulting TripAdvisor and several guidebooks. We were a little apprehensive, since so few hotels in Delphi seemed to rise even to mediocrity. Our general feeling at the time was that the Varonos appeared to be the best of a... more

We are a couple who generally dislikes bus tours , but for seeing highlights of ancient Greece on a limited time schedule, we booked with Chat tours. Chat as well as several other tour companies use the Amalia chain. Other than for the crowds of bus tourists without which this hotel chain would not exist, it was a fine hotel.... more

Sibylla Hotel

I don't think you will find a better hotel at such a good price, the owner had a heart as big as a the view (i advise you ask for a room overlooking gorge) and the rooms were simple and cool. The bathroom was very small but unless your going as a family this would not matter. Great restraunts nearby,... more

Hotel Acropole Delphi

Jun 25, 2008

The hotel's selling points are the balconies. Fantastic views of the mountains and olive groves and, if you look round the corner, the water. The room looked like it was from the 1970s. The breakfast was DISGUSTING. The hardboiled eggs were rotten, the milk was powdered and the orange "juice" reminiscent of Tang. more

Hotel Varonos

Jun 8, 2008

Stayed here one night whilst touring the Pelopenese and it was the worst of all the 5 hotels we used. It seems very dark and almost a bit gothic horror when you walk in. Lots of bits and bobs and clutter and dark woods The dining room is downstairs and it felt a bit strange as we had to walk... more

We stayed one night as part of our CHAT tour of Delphi and it was much nicer than the accommodations we were expecting. (Side note, the tour itself wasn't as informative as we would have liked and didn't allow enough time to explore Delphi.) I loved the modern design of the hotel, and the pool and view of Corinthian bay... more

Or at least the best one I had. My husband I stayed in the Ganimede for two nights while using Galaxidi as a base to visit Delphi. The main building of the hotel is a former sea captain's house, fronting onto a private courtyard where breakfast is served. I gather that rooms vary in size and style with some located... more

This hotel is a great value. Rooms have been updated and are clean, and we had a balcony which overlooked the valley and gulf. You will not do better for the price. more

My wife and I spent two days at Delphi and the surrounding area while traveling with an escorted tour of Greece provided by Vantage Deluxe World Travel in April 2008. The small tour basically consists of four streets that converge at the west end at a point that features a lookout over the valley below. Like much of this area,... more

My wife and visited the Delphi Ruins as part of an escorted tour of Greece offered by Vantage Deluxe World Travel. The ruins are only a few miles from Delphi. It was a bit of a hike up the hill but with slow, steady walking, we were able to oversee the valley and the ruins. We were very impressed with... more

My wife and I stayed in the Hotel Apollonia for two nights while on an escorted tour of Greece and the Aegean Sea operated by Vantage Deluxe World Travel in late-April and early-May 2008. We found our first floor room to be a bit small but we only slept there and the double bed was quite comfortable. We could walk... more
