simple and quick to get to (only 30 minutes from Brussels with rail price included in a Eurostar ticket) certainly the best town in Belgium in appearance, and on a much larger scale than Bruges plenty of good restaurants, which are admittedly dear by Belgian standards but still okay (under 30 euros) particularly if going for the numerous fixed menu... more

First, this is a hostel, so it will have a hostel atmosphere. I found it to be plenty quiet with a very helpful staff, better than most hostels. We only stayed one night in "Bed in Gent", but were very pleased. The rooms are very nice, stylisch, quiet and spacy with a very good bed. The breakfast was great.
